It’s difficult it’s like trying to pinpoint a moment you became best friends with someone. Moment you decided to pursue a career in theater: I’m not exactly sure there was an exact moment. Hometown: Oklahoma City and The Colony, Texasįirst theater role: Malvolio, Twelfth Nightįirst stage show you ever saw: A Christmas Carol at Dallas Theater Center, 1993 Previous work in the DFW area: A Behanding in Spokane, The Bomb-itty of Errors, Red Light Winter, A Skull in Connemara, Lobby Hero and The Country Wife (Second Thought Theatre) The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Long Way Go Down, Macbeth, and Slasher (Kitchen Dog Theater) On The Eve, Defiance (Theatre Three) The Dog Problem (Undermain Theater) This Is Our Youth (Upstart Productions) The Merry Wives of Windsor (Shakespeare Dallas) Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead (Inevitable Theatre Company) and The Secret War (Firebomb Productions). In advance of Nocturne, which runs April 2-26, Wall recently took the time to fill out our survey of serious, fun and sometimes ridiculous questions. This time Wall is joined by director Miranda Parham, with Seth and Shawn Magill of local band Home by Hovercraft providing assistant set design and sound design, respectively. Last time Second Thought combined Wall and Rapp in Red Light Winter, the results were outstanding. This month, he tackles Adam Rapp's visceral and hypnotic Nocturne at Second Thought Theatre, which begins with the line, "Fifteen years ago, I killed my sister." Not only has he graced nearly every Dallas-Fort Worth stage, but his performances are known for being memorable and raw. Fans were looking forward to seeing more RATM shenanigans during their reunion tour this year, but like so many other bands their plans were thwarted by the COVID-19 pandemic.Take one look at Drew Wall's resume, and it's easy to see why we named him one of Dallas' best actors. “The time I wish I had my pants on was when the police arrived,” he added.īack in August, Morello commemorated the 29th anniversary of the band's first rehearsal with a throwback photo on Instagram.

Then for the last five minutes there was outright hostility – booing and giving us the finger and quarter coins being thrown at our d**ks."

The guitarist remembered there being “an outpouring of excitement among the crowd for the first five minutes,” which turned into “an interesting stand-off as it was clear this was not just some sort of quick stunt. During a recent interview with Uncut magazine (via Kerrang!), Morello recalled the crowd's reaction to their stunt. Guitar feedback was the only sound that came from the stage. Zack de la Rocha, Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk all took the stage, completely nude, with the letters PMRC (Parents Music Resource Center) written on their torsos and black electrical tape covering their mouths to protest the festival's censorship. One of the most legendary moments in Lollapalooza history was in 1993, when Rage Against the Machine staged a 15-minute-long naked protest instead of playing their scheduled set.
